Skylar Gudasz has a new record out today called Cinema. The Durham-based singer-songwriter worked with four co-producers, but guided the project herself, playing most of the instruments while recording in North Carolina and at Justin Vernon's place in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

WUNC Music is excited to share the video for Skylar Gudasz's cover of the Glen Campbell and Jimmy Webb classic 'Wichita Lineman.' The song was originally recorded in 1968 by Campbell, backed by the notorious Wrecking Crew - L.A.'s premiere collective of studio musicians.

Gudasz had this to say about the inspiration:

WUNC's Back Porch Music On The Lawn series continues Thursday evening with exceptional North Carolina-based artists.

Friday night at the Carolina Theatre in Durham, the Cat's Cradle presents the North Carolina premiere of the concert film "Thank You, Friends." The movie's name comes from a Big Star song from Third (the band's third album). The movie documents an on-going, star-studded tribute to the band.
