Songs We Love is a series and a podcast with a look at the stories behind some of the songs we're playing on our new music discovery stream, WUNC Music.

This time Eric Hodge sits down with Durham, NC, singer-songwriter Skylar Gudasz to discuss her song "I'm So Happy I Could Die." It's a tongue-in-cheek anthem about moving on from a relationship that went sour.

While Gudasz's latest release, Oleander, which features this song, is more acoustic-centric than this track, she wanted to feature an electric guitar prominently on "I'm So Happy I Could Die."

'That snarling guitar at the beginning is Chris Stamey totally rocking it.'

Find WUNC Music on the WUNC App, on Tune In and in the Triangle area on our WUNC HD2 Channel.
