WUNC Music is excited to share the video for Skylar Gudasz's cover of the Glen Campbell and Jimmy Webb classic 'Wichita Lineman.' The song was originally recorded in 1968 by Campbell, backed by the notorious Wrecking Crew - L.A.'s premiere collective of studio musicians.
Gudasz had this to say about the inspiration:
"Because the Wrecking Crew, who played on the original Glen Campbell recording, are heroes of mine, I knew I wanted to record my version of Wichita Lineman in that same spirit. I arranged an NC wrecking crew - I called Jeff Crawford, who immediately understood the vision, and he set to work crafting the string and horn arrangements. We all gathered - Kaitlin Grady, Peter Lewis, Emma Nadeau, Libby Rodenbough, Casey Toll - and we recorded it in two days at Arbor Ridge Studios as August drew to a close."
