A global business outlook survey conducted by Duke University shows companies are beginning to hire again.
Leoneda Inge: The quarterly Duke University, CFO Magazine Survey paints a much rosier jobs picture than in the past several quarters. John Graham is a Finance professor at Duke and director of the survey. He says Chief Financial Officers are optimistic in 2012.
John Graham: This is the most positive survey we’ve done since before the recession began. So for the first time in several years, I would say, the overall outlook is good in the United States according to CFOs.
Hiring is expected to increase by two-point-one percent. And Graham says wages are expected to rise by just under three-percent. Close to 900 CFOs from public and private companies were questioned for the survey.
