Skylar Gudasz is set to play Duke's Music in the Gardens series.

Update: Due to anticipated thunderstorms, tonight's Skylar Gudasz show has been moved to Motorco Music Hall.

The Music In The Gardens series is underway at the Sarah P. Duke Gardens in Durham. This year's performers include several luminaries from North Carolina including Mount Moriah and Skylar Gudasz.

Aaron Greenwald is the Executive Director for Duke Performances and books the series.

"The aim has always been to have something where important musicians are being presented, generally musicians who are locally based or have local connections but have national profile," he said.

"We know that two-thirds of the audience is out there listening carefully to the music, and another third is having a really fantastic picnic with music in the backgrounds," he added. "And we're fortunate in the space that we have at Duke gardens that we're able to accomplish both those things."

The following artists will play in the gardens Wednesdays at 7 p.m.

  • Skylar Gudasz, June 15
  • Mount Moriah, June 29
  • Sierra Hull, July 6
  • William Tyler and Jake Xerxes Fussell, July 13
  • Jonathan Byrd and the Pickup Cowboys, July 20
  • Black Twig Pickers, July 27
