Storyhill On Mountain Stage

Originally from Montana, the folk-pop duo Storyhill builds on the vocal harmonies and guitar interplay of singer-songwriters John Hermanson and Chris Cunningham. The two have been friends since junior high school, and their innate sense of harmony indicates that they've been singing together almost as long.

While Hermanson was playing his way through college in Minnesota, Cunningham was honing his songwriting skills in Spain. The two reconvened in Minnesota, created Storyhill and began a successful run of self-released records, hitting the college circuit throughout the 1990s.

After a hiatus, during which both Hermanson and Cunningham released music with different projects, Storyhill performed a few reunion shows. With their creativity sparked, the two worked with Semisonic songwriter and producer Dan Wilson to craft Storyhill's self-titled record, released in 2007. In December 2008, the pair released a DVD documentary titled Storyhill: Parallel Lives, featuring the making of the latest album, as well as footage of the very first Storyhill Fest, a Montana-based festival bill put together by the band in 2006.
