About 900 people are expected to attend the National Symposium on Juvenile Services this week in Greensboro. The five-day event includes panel discussions, trainings on youth development strategies and research presentations to better understand brain development in adolescents.
Seminar topics include:
- Suicide prevention
- LGBTQ youth
- How to properly use social media
- Addressing mixed-ability classrooms
This event coincides with Safer Schools Week in North Carolina and the state Department of Public Safety is partnering in putting it on. Event organizers hope educators and practitioners from across the country are able to share best practices.
This is the 20th annual National Symposium on Juvenile Services. It runs through Thursday and is open to the public at cost.
