Hailing from Asheville, N.C., guitarist and songwriter Tyler Ramsey fuses contemplative lyrics with a delicate, dexterous guitar style reminiscent of John Fahey and Leo Kottke. A versatile performer, Ramsey applies his stamp to country blues, alternative folk, and lighter finger-style guitar instrumentals.
Ramsey was recently added to the lineup of the indie-rock group Band of Horses when bassist Bill Reynolds invited him to visit the band. The next thing Ramsey knew, he was pulling double-duty, opening for the band solo and then joining it as its new guitarist.
Ramsey's new gig roughly coincided with the release of his second solo album, A Long Dream About Swimming Across the Sea.
