Global Disease Fund Postpones Tanzania Grant

The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria will have to postpone a major grant to Tanzania. The fund is uncertain about where the government intends to keep the money, and its use may be at odds with the organization's grant-giving policies. NPR's Brenda Wilson reports. (3:40)

Obama Likely To Allow Aid For Abortion Counseling

The president is expected to issue an executive order revoking a policy that bars international family-planning organizations that offer abortion services or referrals from receiving U.S. aid. The policy was originally issued by President Reagan and then reversed by President Clinton, before being instituted again by President Bush.
