Two new shows are coming to WUNC Weekends this summer. One of the shows is really two shows in one. Keep reading.
The New Yorker Radio Hour is hosted by the magazine’s long-time editor David Remnick and features in-depth interviews with artists, writers, comedians, filmmakers and other cultural figures. The show is very much like The New Yorker Magazine, infused with its values and integrity, but made for public radio. It’s a thoughtful, fast-moving hour that also features personal narratives, readings of short fiction and some of that famous New Yorker satire. It will be on WUNC News stations Sundays at 3 p.m. beginning July 1.
How I Built This / Planet Money combines two of NPR’s most compelling podcasts into a single hour of radio. This new show can be heard Sunday at 7 a.m. beginning July 1.
Planet Money explains the economy with playful storytelling and Peabody award-winning deep dive, roll up your sleeves journalism. The team includes Robert Smith, Jacob Goldstein, Stacey Vanek Smith, Noel King, Ailsa Chang and Kenny Malone.
Guy Raz hosts How I Built This, where innovators, entrepreneurs, and idealists take us through the often challenging journeys they took to build their now iconic companies. Featured guests include the founders of Lyft, Patagonia, Zappos, Spanx, Samuel Adams, Instagram, and more.
These programs replace Marketplace Weekend which is ending national production and our repeat broadcast of The Peoples Pharmacy. Joe and Terry Graedon can be heard on WUNC every Saturday morning at 7 a.m.
