Nursing Program Reinstated at Fayetteville State

State health officials have approved reinstating of the bachelor's program in nursing at Fayetteville State University. Chancellor James Anderson suspended the program two years ago due to low test scores and conflicts among nursing instructors. Nursing Department Chair Afua Arhin says there are now safeguards to prevent those issues.

Afua Arhin: "We know what went wrong and we're not going to go down that road. We are hiring the bright and the best and a lot talented faculty. The curriculum is strengthened. We have a state-of-the-art lab for these students. Everything that we could possibly have in place to make sure we have a successful program is in place."

Arhin says all 27 students who took national licensing exams last year made passing grades. The bachelor's program resumes this fall.
