Durham's own Iron & Wine is back with a brand new album full of lost songs.
That's the stage name for Sam Beam. He is returning to his folk music roots with Archive Series Volume No. 1 – the first in a series of albums featuring tracks "found in the back corners of closets and dusty shoe boxes" – after several years experimenting with musical elements of jazz, rock and R&B. The album drops today.
Beam recently stopped by WUNC's Durham offices to record a live session with KPCC and played a few tracks from the album.
