Jack Klatt Croons And Rambles On 'It Ain't The Same'

Jack Klatt - It Ain't The Same
Yep Roc Records
Jack Klatt

Jack Klatt grew up in Minnesota. As a teenager, his musical tastes took him from The Clash, to Bob Marley and Woody Guthrie.  You can hear some of that in the songs from his new record 'It Ain't The Same.'

Ahead of his show at Cat's Cradle on November 9th, Klatt chatted with WUNC Morning Edition Host Eric Hodge about the new record. He talked about the process of recording the album, one that's a bit more produced than his previous work.

I'd never played around with all the tricks a studio can afford. There's something really magical about working a song out while you're recording it...

He also goes into detail about the years he spent busking and traveling on his own.

There is a feeling that goes into it, and when you're on you're on...

Klatt plays the Cat's Cradle Back Room on November 9th.

'It Ain't The Same' is out now on the Hillsborough based Yep Roc Records.
