The Lone Bellow is a band made of up Southerners living in Brooklyn.
They play what they once called “honky tonk,” but now refer to as Brooklyn country music. And, their self-titled 2013 album was a hit both with the traditional country music audiences and many in the indie music scene.
The album featured soulful layered harmonies, and several songs that were originally written by front man Zach Williams as journal entries during a difficult period of his life. The entries eventually manifested into songs and now they're coming out with a whole new album - Then Came The Morning.
The Lone Bellow dropped by WUNC before a show at the Haw River Ballroom and played the title track to the new album live in studio. Listen:
