WUNC Capitol Bureau Chief Jeff Tiberii talks with Becki Gray, of the John Locke Foundation, and Rob Schofield, of NC Policy Watch, about the week's news.

This week in North Carolina politics, state lawmakers voted to override another executive veto. Hours later, they introduced a proposal to amend the North Carolina Constitution. And changes to the judiciary are key to both plans that garnered attention at the General Assembly this week. Rob Schofield of NC Policy Watch and Becki Gray, of the conservative John Locke foundation, discuss judicial changes, how to further address the opioid crisis, and if another chapter in the House Bill 2 saga, is potentially on the horizon.

Jeff Tiberii is the co-host of WUNC's "Due South." Jeff joined WUNC in 2011. During his 20 years in public radio, he was Morning Edition Host at WFDD and WUNC’s Greensboro Bureau Chief and later, the Capitol Bureau Chief. Jeff has covered state and federal politics, produced the radio documentary “Right Turn,” launched a podcast, and was named North Carolina Radio Reporter of the Year four times.
