U.S. Senator Richard Burr was censured by the state Republican Party this week, after he voted to convict Donald Trump for his role in inciting the insurrection on Capitol Hill. Elsewhere in state politics, a nonpartisan division at the General Assembly is being disbanded, and a bill to require schools to reopen now sits on the governor’s desk.
