Today we have a special episode of Come Hear NC on the Songs We Love podcast. The music community in North Carolina lost a giant this week.  Drummer Sara Romweber died on Monday.  She was 55 and had cancer.  She was the drummer for Snatches of Pink, The Dex Romweber Duo and most famously Let’s Active.  Those albums she, Mitch Easter and Faye Hunter recorded at Mitch’s Drive-In in Winston-Salem were hugely influential to a generation of musicians.  The songs were dreamy, in that classic jangle pop way, but Sara brought them down to earth in with a steady, yet endlessly creative pounding backbeat.  Her fellow musicians are remembering her as an inspiration, a hero, and a friend.  We at WUNC Music remember with this close listen to one of her Songs We Love.
