Jonah Tolchin is getting back to his roots on the new record LAVA LAMP.

Known for his bluesy-folk-Americana, the singer-songwriter is feeling the sounds of bands he grew up with like The Strokes and Gorillaz. Inspiration came from a concert by The Pixies.

Jonah joined WUNC's Eric Hodge to talk about the new songs and what's behind them.

Eric Hodge hosts WUNC’s broadcast of Morning Edition, and files reports for the North Carolina news segments of the broadcast. He started at the station in 2004 doing fill-in work on weekends and All Things Considered.
