Rob Schofield, of N.C. Policy Watch, and Becki Gray, of the John Locke Foundation, join WUNC's Jeff Tiberii to discuss the week's news.

A unique figure in North Carolina politics died earlier this week.

Becki Gray, of the John Locke Foundation, and Rob Schofield, of NC Policy Watch, discuss the legacy of Congressman Walter Jones, who passed away at age 76 on Sunday.

The weekly conversation also includes a discussion about independent redistricting, whether there should be a minimum wage, and the newest Chief Justice on the state supreme court.

Jeff Tiberii is the co-host of WUNC's "Due South." Jeff joined WUNC in 2011. During his 20 years in public radio, he was Morning Edition Host at WFDD and WUNC’s Greensboro Bureau Chief and later, the Capitol Bureau Chief. Jeff has covered state and federal politics, produced the radio documentary “Right Turn,” launched a podcast, and was named North Carolina Radio Reporter of the Year four times.
