Volunteers are at the ready to help carry luggage and bedding at North Carolina A&T University's new student move-in on Friday.Associate Vice Provost for Enrollment Management Erin Hill Hart says A&T expects 700 transfer students and 2,200 freshmen.

“We anticipate a large freshman class this fall, and we're pleased that we continue to attract high-achieving students and maintain academic profile even with that larger class,” Hart said.

Fayetteville State University also moves-in new students on Friday.

At the University of North Carolina- Greensboro, students wrapped up a three-day move-in process Thursday.

Kim Sousa-Peoples directs New Student Transitions at UNC-Greensboro.

“Move-in across campus looks really good,” Sousa-Peoples said. “The weather's been super helpful: nice and cool for this time of year, and sunny. And there's lots of activity out at all the residence halls.”

Sousa-Peoples said there are more than 2,200 freshmen, and that the campus has maxed-out the number of beds.

At NC Central University, school officials also welcomed a "convocation" of new Eagles to campus on Thursday. Staff, student volunteers and alumni gathered in shifts to help students move into campus dorms.

New Chancellor Johnson Akinleye said the Central incoming freshman class has a record 1,300 students.

“We are ready to receive them and to make them feel welcome,” Akinleye said. “The campus is prepared. And so we're just excited to start a new academic year.”

New Bears moved onto the Shaw University campus earlier this week.

Tar Heels move onto the Carolina campus in Chapel Hill next weekend, and new Blue Devils head to Duke the following week.
