Canadian-born Leif Vollebekk spoke with WUNC Morning Edition Host Eric Hodge about his latest album "Twin Solitude."

Leif Vollebekk was born in Canada, but his music is influenced by his travels to France, Iceland and New York. Now he calls Montreal home.  His early influences included Bob Dylan, Lou Reed and Neil Young, but he also felt the pull of Beat Generation writers Allen Ginsberg and Charles Bukowski. His latest recording is called "Twin Solitude."  Vollebekk stopped by for a chat before a recent show at the Cat's Cradle.

He spoke with WUNC Morning Edition Host Eric Hodge about his latest album and its opening song "Vancouver Time." It's one of several songs on the record about traveling and also about maybe searching for something.

Eric Hodge hosts WUNC’s broadcast of Morning Edition, and files reports for the North Carolina news segments of the broadcast. He started at the station in 2004 doing fill-in work on weekends and All Things Considered.
