New evening time for State of Things, debut of On Being and Q as The Story broadcasts end on WUNC
Friday October 11 we say "goodbye" to Dick Gordon and The Story. The Story has been on WUNC since 2005 and was created in our Chapel Hill Studios. It was distributed nationwide by American Public Media. (You can read more about the end of The Story in this post.)
That's the sad news. The good news is that there's now room for two new programs on the WUNC line-up and you'll be able to hear them starting Sunday October 13. Sunday morning begins with On Being at 6 a.m. On Being is a weekly conversation about the big questions at the center of human life, from the boldest new science of the human brain to the most ancient traditions of the human spirit. It's hosted by Krista Tippett and takes the place of the Sunday morning repeat of The Story.
WUNC's The State of Things will move to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday evenings and will be followed by Q from the CBC. Q is an energetic daily arts, culture and entertainment magazine that takes you on a smart and surprising ride, interviewing personalities and tackling the cultural issues that matter. It's hosted by Jian Ghomeshi and can be heard weekday evenings (except Fridays) at 9 p.m.
Weekdays, Here & Now will now begin at 1 and run until 3 p.m. with Science Friday continuing Fridays at 2 p.m.
We look forward to your comments about WUNC programs - new and old. You can send your comments to wunc@wunc.org or call us at 919-445-9150.
