The man charged with killing three Muslim students in Chapel Hill in 2015 is expected to plead guilty to their murders next week. The Durham District Attorney’s Office confirms Craig Hicks will appear in court on Wednesday. Hicks is charged with three counts of first degree murder for the February 2015 deaths of Deah Barakat, his wife, Yusor Abu-Salha, and her younger sister, Razan Abu Salha.

In February, Deah's older brother, Farris, told WUNC he and his family are preparing themselves for what emotional baggage a trial could bring.

"Ultimately, I think we look for closure, potentially, but I think we're told time and again that don't really expect that from the trial," Barakat said. "There's not going to be any kind of result that's going to guarantee us some kind of closure."
