WATCH: Pres. Obama Addresses Chapel Hill Mourners At White House Violent Extremism Summit

President Obama
Pete Souza

President Obama is renewing his support for Muslim-Americans in the wake of the shootings that killed three students in Chapel Hill last week.  The White House is hosting a  three-day summit on countering violent extremism.  The President said yesterday the country continues to face challenges to its security.

Most recently, with the brutal murders in Chapel Hill of three young Muslim-Americans, many Muslim-Americans are worried and afraid, and I want to be as clear as I can be. As Americans - all faiths and backgrounds - we stand with you in your grief, and we offer our love and we offer our support. - President Obama

The President says the nation is not at war with Islam, but at war with terrorists.
