WATCH: Gov. Cooper Holds COVID-19 Briefing

Governor Roy Cooper and members of North Carolina’s Coronavirus Task Force will hold a media briefing Wednesday at 2 p.m. regarding the latest COVID-19 updates in the state.

On Tuesday, State Health Secretary Dr. Mandy Cohen said the state health department is readjusting the way it distributes COVID-19 vaccines after local health departments got few to no new shipments this week.

Gov. Cooper commutes six sentences; grants two pardons

Late Wednesday, Governor Roy Cooper announced he had commuted the sentences of six people in North Carolina prisons and granted pardons of innocence to two others. According to the governor's office, the clemency actions followed a review by the Office of Executive Clemency, the Office of General Counsel, and the governor.
