Reynolds American Moves Ahead With VUSE E-Cigarettes

Reynolds American is forging ahead with its electronic cigarette brand.  The announcement was made Friday in Tobaccoville.

Reynolds American CEO Susan Cameron says it’s time for everybody to have the chance to try out their VUSE digital vapor cigarette.

“It it’s selling like hot cakes, you need more hot cakes,” said Cameron.

And Cameron had no problem whipping out her personal VUSE.

“Yes, this is a VUSE, I tried it, and I actually use it, it’s spectacular.”

Cameron says sales in their test markets of Colorado and Utah far exceeded their expectations.  So now they are opening an e-cigarette manufacturing facility in North Carolina, in order to take the product national.

Governor Pat McCrory says this is good news for the state.

“Two hundred new jobs, plus incredible new capital investment which will create new jobs,” said McCrory.

And McCrory said Reynolds American did not ask for any incentives in order to expand their product.

Earlier this week, the state House approved an attractive five-cent tax on the nicotine liquid used in e-cigarette cartridges.
