Annual Economic Forecast Forum In RTP Looks At Financial Future Of NC

Richard Burr
US Senate

More than 1,000 leaders in business, government, education and non-profits are gathering this morning in Research Triangle Park for the 12th annual Economic Forecast Forum.

This year’s speakers will include Kelly King, the head of BB&T; Senator Richard Burr and Governor Pat McCrory.

The North Carolina Chamber is one of the event’s program sponsors. Chamber President and CEO Lew Ebert says the year ahead looks bright.

“Things are happening in the state capitals that are very positive, that are creating economic momentum for the state," said Ebert. " So I think that the fact that North Carolina is getting its house in order and really not counting on the federal government to do that, is probably a good, proactive response to recovering from tough times.”

The NC Bankers Association is also a presenter of today’s program. It will include a special session on the economic opportunities surrounding the state’s military bases.

Registration at the Economic Forecast Forum begins at 9:30 a.m.  The event takes place at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center in RTP.
