Wake Forest U Named 'Most Beautiful' Campus In NC
Travel + Leisure Magazine has picked Wake Forest University as the most beautiful campus in the state.
The magazine notes that while North Carolina has no shortage of pretty schools, that Wake Forest has "top quality" groundskeeping, and that the buildings are "gorgeous inside and out."
Wake Forest University was founded in 1834 outside Raleigh. In 1941, the medical school moved to Winston-Salem, and the rest of the College followed in 1956. The university charges $47,120 in tuition and fees and another $13,000 for room and board.
The campus sits on about 321 acres and includes more than 80 buildings, most of which are of modified Georgian architecture and constructed of Old Virginia brick trimmed in granite and limestone.
