"Story of NC" Opens at History Museum

The North Carolina Museum of History will open its biggest exhibit to date on Saturday. "The Story of North Carolina" includes re-created environments to help visitors transport back in time. For example, they can step inside an early twentieth century textile mill and feel the floor shake from operating machinery. RaeLana Poteat helps curate the exhibit at the Museum of History.

RaeLana Poteat: "We have certain areas that are set up as theaters as you go through. There's an Indian house at the beginning of the exhibit with a video inside it, all the way up to a theater that deals with secession during the Civil War, and another theater that has the story of the Wilmington race riots in it."

"The Story of North Carolina" will be on display permanently at the museum. Admission to the exhibit is free.
