Vetiver: Addictive and Sweetly Soothing

Vetiver.
Vetiver.

Named for a fragrant East Indian grass, Vetiver is singer-songwriter Andy Cabic's band and musical home. With help from friend and fellow singer-songwriter Devendra Banhart, Cabic and his colleagues create songs that are unique, addictive and sweetly soothing.

Cabic assembled Vetiver from musicians and friends, with help from guests such as My Bloody Valentine's Colm O'Ciosoig and a then-unknown Joanna Newsom. The band's self-titled 2004 debut featured fairytale lyrics and received high acclaim, while the new To Find Me Gone finds Cabic evolving as a songwriter and musician. He assembled an amazing group of musicians -- including Banhart, guitarist Kevin Barker and cellist Alissa Anderson -- to fuel his sunny, thoughtful songwriting.
