NC Green Party

The Green Party will remain an official party in North Carolina, able to field candidates statewide through the 2028 elections. The Republican majority on the State Board of Elections voted Thursday to allow the North Carolina Green Party to be recognized again in the ninth-largest state.

The state Democratic Party has filed an emergency motion with the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals to block a lower court's order that the Greens be added to North Carolina's 2022 ballot

The ultra-progressive party held a celebratory press conference Monday. But being on the ballot hardly means its candidates will actually contend in any races.
