The Senate Homeland Security Committee is holding a hearing examining the security failures that led to the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.
The Senate committees expect to hear from the Capitol's three former top security officials — as well as the current head of D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department, Robert Contee — in the joint hearing, according to NPR.
Five people died during the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. The government has now identified more than 250 suspects in the rioting. At least seven North Carolinians have been charged.
