National and state economies are expected to improve in 2011 – but by only just a little bit.
Yesterday’s Economic Forecast Forum in Research Triangle Park was about telling the hard truth. Wells Fargo Senior Economist Mark Vitner:
"We’re still on a path that we’re seeing extremely modest job growth."
Billie Redmond is trying to stay optimistic. She’s the CEO of Coldwell Banker Commercial Trademark Properties in Raleigh.
"So we don’t really like the way the business climate feels in the Triangle – but it’s a lot better than a lot of other places. I think we need to keep our eyes on that, keep our eye on the prize and realize, we can be better, we can make it better – we can come out of this recession."
Redmond, Vitner and others addressed more than one thousand people at the annual forum. The event was sponsored by the North Carolina Bankers Association and the Chamber of Commerce.
