Growing up in New York, Diana Jones devoured the music of Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash and Emmylou Harris while her friends listened to Michael Jackson and Prince. She left home at the age of 15 in search of her roots, and discovered them in the music of the Eastern Tennessee hills.
Upon the release of her third album, My Remembrance of You, Jones broke into the international scene. After the death of her grandfather — a folk musician who played with Chet Atkins — Jones retreated to a Northeast cabin to write and heal in isolation. The result was a recording marked by timeless emotions and bluesy confessions. With its old-time feel, sparse acoustic accompaniment and Jones' literate, lonely vocals, the disc reached a broad assortment of roots-music audiences.
Jones' latest album is Better Times Will Come, a vivid 11-song collection that's biographical in nature.
