The Lodger: 'Many Thanks for Your Honest Opinion'

The Lodger is a Brit pop trio from northern England.

A sharp, Brit pop trio from Leeds in north England, The Lodger mix jangly guitars with bouncing rhythms, hand claps, catchy hooks and simple-sweet harmonies. Their infectious debut album, Grown Ups skips along like a great Summer afternoon driving album, with occasional shifts to more moody and introspective melodies.

The Lodger began in 2004, largely as a solo project by Ben Siddal, who got the band name from the room he was renting at the time from a small flat. After circulating a homemade demo, Sidall was invited to open for the Kaiser Chiefs. He recruited friends for the gig and eventually settled on a permanent lineup with Joe Sidall on bass and Katie James on percussion.

Since its release in June, Grown Ups has gotten repeated airplay on the BBC. The opening track, "Many Thanks For Your Honest Opinion" was the band's first single. The Lodger is currently on tour. In May the group was reunited with original drummer Bruce Renshaw.
