CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina has suspended leading scorer P.J. Hairston indefinitely after the guard was cited for reckless driving.
Team spokesman Steve Kirschner announced the suspension Sunday night and said Hairston received a traffic citation earlier in the day.
The suspension was the latest off-court misstep for Hairston, who had been cited twice in the span of a month while driving a rental vehicle linked to a convicted felon.
Authorities dropped one set of those charges last week.
Hairston averaged 14.6 points in 34 games as a sophomore last season.
