WUNC Spotlight: Scorched Workers - Community Conversation

WUNC Spotlight: Scorched Workers - Community Conversation

How is rising heat impacting NC's outdoor workforce?

WUNC News invites you to a community conversation about the recent Scorched Workers project. Join us to hear behind-the-scenes details about the reporting process and an in-person panel discussion about the impact of climate change on our state’s outdoor workforce. Plus, hear how and why WUNC's newsroom created a bilingual zine to distribute news and information about rising heat.

Hosted by WUNC reporters Celeste Gracia and Aaron Sanchez-Guerra, this special event features:

  • Free drinks and snacks from 6-7 p.m.
  • Time to mingle with WUNC reporters and staff
  • Panel discussion with guest experts at 6:30 p.m.
  • Audience Q&A

Panelists include:
Ashley Ward, Duke’s Heat Policy Innovation Hub
Leticia Zavala, El Future es Nuestro
Janeth Tapia, NC Farmworkers Project

Space for this special event is limited and registration is required. Save your seat now!

Parking is available at nearby public pay lots. We recommend the Rosemary/Columbia Lot or the West Rosemary Lot in Downtown Chapel Hill.
