The Irish pop-rock band Bell X1 has brought its catchy riffs and smart lyrics to America in recent years, long after the group had already become a reliable hitmaker in its homeland. Click the link above to hear Bell X1 perform live in concert from WXPN and World Café Live in Philadelphia.
The group was initially led by singer Damien Rice under the moniker Juniper, but Rice left the group, found solo stardom and was replaced by vocalist/drummer Paul Noonan. With its danceable hooks and electronic textures, Flock found critical success in the U.S. a few years ago.
Bell X1's new follow-up, Blue Lights on the Runway, finds the group expanding on its increasingly confident sound. As Noonan sings, "I want to be a better band / and shoot fire from my hand."
