CD Buyers Entitled to Refund Under Lawsuit Settlement

Record companies settle a $67-million class-action lawsuit filed by attorneys general from 41 states, agreeing to pay money to anyone who purchased a CD between 1995 and 2000. The suit alleged that major record labels conspired to keep CD prices artificially high. NPR's Jack Speer reports.

Senate to Debate Higher Fuel Standards

A new energy bill sets up a Senate debate on a measure to increase fuel economy standards. It would require that cars, trucks and SUVs achieve an average of 35 miles per gallon by 2020. That's 10 miles per gallon over current levels.

Tuesday is the deadline to file federal income tax forms. Of 135 million forms expected this year, at least half will be filed electronically. And 20 percent will come in during this last week.
