Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is being remembered in a ceremony at the U.S. Capitol on Friday, where she will lie in state in Statuary Hall.
Ginsburg, the second woman to serve on the Supreme Court and a trailblazing pioneer for gender equality, died Sept. 18 at the age of 87 at her home in Washington, D.C. She had recently received treatment for pancreatic cancer.
She had served on the court since 1993, when she was appointed by former President Bill Clinton.
Days before her death, Ginsburg told her granddaughter: "My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed."
