WATCH LIVE: Joe Biden Makes Victory Speech As President-Elect

NPR

Former Vice President Joe Biden will address the American people as president-elect after a win in Pennsylvania put him over the 270 electoral-vote threshold needed on Saturday.

Biden, who will be the 46th President of the United States, is the first challenger to defeat an incumbent first-term president in nearly 30 years. Donald Trump had not conceded to Biden as of Saturday evening.

2020 was the third time that Biden had run for president. He will be 78 by Inauguration Day, making him the oldest man ever elected president.

Sen. Kamala Harris of California, Biden’s running mate, is also expected to speak. She will be the first woman, the first Black person, the first Indian American and the first Asian American to hold the office of vice president. She will also be the first graduate of an HBCU to do so.

Watch the speeches from Wilmington, Delaware live below, via NPR. Coverage begins at 8 p.m.
