The Carolina Hurricanes hope to extend a three-game winning streak Monday night against the Montreal Canadiens. Coach Kirk Muller says his skaters are playing a quicker game and he expects to see a familiar set of players in Montreal.
"I find they're playing a very similar game to our game right now. They're not afraid to come at you," Muller says.
"Their D' (has) been strong. They're getting goals from different people up there. They want to play a high-tempo game. They want to skate and play a real north-south type game."
The 'Canes have won six of their last eight games despite a recent six-game road trip over 11 days. Goal tenders Cam Ward and Dan Ellis have combined to stop 91 percent of shots against them this season.
Meanwhile, Eric Staal has a league-best 11-game point streak.
Carolina leads Tampa Bay in the Southeast Division by two points.
