PHOTOS: George Floyd Memorial In Raeford Draws Thousands

Kate Medley

An estimated 10,000 mourners gathered in Raeford, N.C. to pay their final respects to George Floyd. It was the second of three memorials across the country to commorate his death.
The mood was solemn as mourners waited in the midday sun to file through Cape Fear Conference B Headquarters of the United American Free Will Baptist Denomination. From time to time, they called out Floyd's name.

Floyd, whose death became a seminal moment in the movement to protest police violence against black Americans, was born in nearby Fayetteville, N.C.
