President Clinton Scheduled To Stump For Hagan

Bryan Series

President Clinton is scheduled to be in town today to stump for the Democratic incumbent Senator Kay Hagan. She's running in a close race against her challenger, Republican state Speaker of the House, Thom Tillis.

President Clinton will appear at a private lunch held at the Carolina Inn. The Hagan campaign wouldn't give more details on who exactly will attend, but the guests are presumably big donors to the Hagan campaign.

With election day a little more than a month away, both campaigns are kicking into high gear. New Jersey's Republican governor, Chris Christie, appeared with Tillis at an event in Wilmington a couple of weeks ago, and on Wednesday, Republican Senator Rand Paul is scheduled to appear with Tillis at a campaign event in Raleigh.

Hagan had a campaign cash advantage over Tillis in July, but more outside groups are making their presence known in the race- and on the airwaves.
