McCrory Completes Cabinet Appointments

Governor-elect Pat McCrory has filled the remaining seats in his cabinet. McCrory announced this morning his cabinet will include former Wake County Schools superintendent Tony Tata as Secretary of Transportation. The school board voted to remove Tata from his superintendent position in September. McCrory also appointed Sharon Decker, a former vice president at Duke Energy, as Secretary of Commerce. UNC Board of Governors member Bill Daughtridge will serve as Secretary of Administration. McCrory says he believes he has built a cabinet that will effectively run state government during his term.

Pat McCrory: "By making these announcements today, we have filled all eight of my cabinet secretaries positions with a diverse, bipartisan group representing all portions of the North Carolina, half of which are Republican and half of which are either Democrat or Independent."

McCrory and his cabinet will be sworn into their positions Saturday.
