Military Support Groups Collaborate in Raleigh

Wake County is hosting a networking fair today for organizations that support military personnel and their families. County leaders say the event is designed to develop stronger ties between local military groups. Randy Marsh is chair of the Wake County Military and Veterans Resource Coalition.

Randy Marsh: "There's a lot of organizations that do want to support military veterans, but they don't always know each other. So when they're working with or supporting a veteran or a military service member who might need other kinds of assistance, they don't always know necessarily where to turn to find the help that they can't give."

Marsh says the fair includes services like the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as well as groups that provide counseling for active personnel. The networking fair kicks off this afternoon at the Wake County Commons Building in Raleigh.
