Warm-Up On The Way

Laura Leslie

If the White Christmas has already lost its charm for you, then this weekend's forecast should be good news.  The Triangle will see spring-like temperatures to ring in the New Year.   Brandon Vincent is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Raleigh.

"The month of December so far for the Triangle area has been - right now, it's actually tied for the coldest December on record. However we are going to see a warm-up over the next several days, with highs getting up into the lower 50s on Thursday, the mid-upper 50s on Friday, and probably the low 60s on Saturday and Sunday."

Vincent says cooler weather will return early next week, but it'll be much closer to average temperatures, with highs around 50.  He says the current "La Nina" pattern should bring warmer and drier conditions for the rest of this winter.
