Rockingham Community College and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro announced a new co-admission program called “Spartan Passage.”The program is similar to the G-squared program between UNCG, Guilford Technical Community College and Alamance County Community College.
The partnership between RCC and UNCG will allow students to be automatically accepted to the university should they choose to transfer.
UNCG Provost Dana Dunn said the program is about expectations.
“When students are admitted here and admitted to UNC Greensboro simultaneously, they know the work that they have to do,” she said. “They get the benefits of advanced counseling from both entities.”
Dunn also said the transition from community college to their university will be seamless for students.
“When students come to Rockingham Community College, they will ultimately complete their education with at least a four year baccalaureate degree,” she said.
Students who want to move on to UNCG must earn their associate of arts at RCC and also be a full-time student each term with a minimum 2.0 GPA.
The program will begin enrolling in Fall 2018.
