WUNC is traveling the state, listening to students interview their teachers. Our goal is to gain some new insights into what it takes to be a teacher in North Carolina. Do you have a special story about a teacher? Tell us! Also, here's how to record your own My Teacher interview.

WUNC's My Teacher Series explores student-teacher relationships across North Carolina and tries to find out what it takes to make a connection in the classroom.

Today we follow Khaylah Hines, a sophomore at Leesville Road High School. We meet Khaylah in a high school classroom with her freshman year math teacher Maggie Jenkins. Khaylah and Maggie talk about teaching and how they get around some of their work and math problems.

The My Teacher Series is produced  by Kimani Hall and made possible in part by a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
