My Teacher: A Teacher Pushes Her Students To Find A Path

Emily Spellman and her English Teacher Brandy Carter at Bunn High School.
Will McInerney

WUNC's My Teacher Series explores student-teacher relationships across North Carolina and tries to find out what it takes to make a connect in the classroom.

Today we meet with Emily Spellman, a recent high school graduate of Bunn High School. We see Ms. Spellman in her old high school classroom where she reconnects with her high school English teacher, Mrs. Carter. Emily and Mrs. Carter explain the insight that teachers see in their students and how that helped Emily decide the path that she’s on today.

The My Teacher Series is produced  by Kimani Hall and made possible in part by a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
